Profile set-up
Set up a gmail account for login
Create new profile and handle (@username)
Confirm gmail address as contact info
Add profile bio with copy that speaks to community and is search-friendly (150 character limit)
Add profile picture (use same as Facebook)
Linktree set up with UTM parameters
Submit request to CS to add Instagram icon and URL to website footer
Business set-up
Connect IG profile to FB business page and ad account
Fill in any missing business listing information (phone number, contact email or address, if applicable - some of this info will populate upon connecting to business page)
Add profile to SproutSocial
Research
Hashtag research - determine top 30 industry and location-specific trending hashtags for posts
Engagement research - on behalf of the community, start following relevant users to get in front of key accounts and start building up a following. Instagram, unlike Facebook, is a two-way street in terms of engagement. It is important for the community to engage with other users’ content in order to build relationships and receive new followers and engagement in return.
