Updating Page Content

Pages use a slightly different editor than the Events or Posts sections of the site, called the Block Editor.

  1. To navigate to a specific existing page to make updates, click on Pages on the left side of the screen.

  2. Click on the title of the page to enter the editor. As you will see, the content is divided into different types of blocks. Here’s a reference of the different type of blocks: https://glynndevins.atlassian.net/l/c/RHX4x3AE

To toggle between previewing these blocks as they will appear on the front end of the site, and the block editor view, click the pencil icon (to see block editor) or the eye icon (to see block preview). Examples are shown in screenshot 3 and 4.

Common Block Updates

Headline Block

Headlines for each page are added via the GD Headlines block. By clicking the pencil icon to edit this block, you have access to choose the headline alignment, headline type (Creative, H3, H4, H5, etc.) or enter/update copy in the Creative Headline field.

Content Block

Copy and media files can be entered/updated via the GD WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) block. To add content, simply type into the content field or copy and paste.

(Note: Please don’t copy and paste from Word/Excel/Outlook, because it will copy the formatting from those programs. Instead, retype or copy your content to a text editor [such as Notepad] and convert to plain text.)

You can also add media such as an image or link to a PDF by clicking the Add Media button.

Previewing Changes

  1. Click Preview Changes to view changes before publishing. These changes won’t be reflected on the live site yet; it provides a quick preview before you update or publish the page.

  2. If the page is in Draft Mode, click Publish to make the page live. (If you’ve just made modifications and the page is already published, click Update to publish changes.)
